S'more Love

by Jessica Ellingsworth in Recipe

The classic s'mores is as old as the Girl Scout (1927!), but who says we have to stick with just the oldie-but-goodie graham cracker + marshmallow + chocolate? Recently we had an outdoor dinner with friends, followed by dessert around the fire. Enter the idea for a non-traditional s'mores party. Spring evenings get a little chilly around here, so tonight I called the family around and put together a tray of toppings that aren't your grandma's s'mores. Friends, a fire, and a variety of s'mores fillings are a perfect way to get everyone together on a spring night.

Outer options :

  • graham crackers (of course), chocolate, cinnamon, & classic
  • matzo crackers
  • angel food cake or pound cake
  • unpeeled apple
  • gingerbread
  • cookies (The chocolate chip cookies shown in the photo are gluten-free from The Immaculate Baking Co.)
  • sugar wafers
  • brownies
  • biscotti

Fillings ::

  • marshmallow creme
  • Specialty varieties of marshmallows (toasted coconut, caramel, chocolate covered marshmallows, etc..)
  • sliced strawberries
  • bananas
  • peanut butter
  • nutella
  • any kind of candy bar
  • pie filling
  • salted caramel
  • oranges & dark chocolate
