Hot Chocolate at Angelina is really all I have to say. Arguably the best hot chocolate you can find in Paris. If you have had the pleasure of tasting this, then you know what I mean. It is literally like a melted bar, very thick and rich with cacao beans originating from the Ivory Coast, hence the name Chocolat Africain. Opened in 1903, the fashion designer Coco Chanel and the writer Marcel Proust used to take their five o'clock tea here. King George V of Britain had his own engraved glasses here.
My girls also got to pick one of Angelina's sweets. My youngest chose a pink macaron, and my oldest chose the famous Mont Blanc pastry, a meringue base filled with whipped cream in the middle and sweet chestnut puree on top. We took it across the street to a beautiful park near the Museé d'Orsay where my girls played on the playground with French school-children and attempted to fit in with them....:)
